ALTOONA, Pa. – The Westminster College men's soccer team lost its first game of the 2016 season, 3-1, at Penn State Altoona Wednesday night.
Penn State (2-1) took a 1-0 lead when Seth Murrelle found Luke Nelson at the 12:07 mark for a score.

Grant Gagnon (Johnstown, PA / Westmont Hilltop) knotted up the game, 1-1, with a goal off a header in the second half with 48:30 on the clock. Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week freshman
Peter Mattocks (Saegertown, PA / Saegertown) earned the assist.
The Lions regained the lead, 2-1, at the 55:09 mark when Jacob Weaver headed the ball off a corner kick by Luke Nelson. Nelson added insurance with a direct kick goal from 18 yards out with less than 20 minutes remaining in regulation.
For the game, Westminster out-shot Penn State 20-15 and held an 11-3 corner kick advantage.
Titan sophomore goalkeeper
AJ Bove (New Stanton, PA / Hempfield Area) tallied two saves in a complete-game effort.
Westminster (2-1) will next compete at La Roche College on Thursday, September 8 at 4 p.m.
