NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's soccer team lost, 3-2, to the visiting Adrian College in a non-conference game Monday night.
 
Adrian (2-1-0) scored with 21 seconds remaining in the first half when Mackenzie Wilcox dribbled past the Titan defense and placed the ball in the near post to put the Bulldogs in front 1-0.
 
Westminster (0-1-1) scored both of its goals off a corner kick by sophomore Keely Birsic (North Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic). The first one came at the 60:33 mark, scored by first-year Josie Banks (Winter Garden, FL / West Orange), tying the game 1-1. The second goal came at the 78:15 mark, courtesy of senior Sammy Creese (Mount Airy, MD / Glenelg), knotting the game 2-2. (Wilcox's second goal of the game at the 69:49 mark put the Bulldogs in front 2-1).
 
Wilcox completed the hat trick with the eventual game-winning goal at the 80:14 mark.
 
For the game, Westminster out-shot Adrian 17-8 (14-5 in the second half) and held an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
 
Titan junior goalkeeper Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) earned two saves in 90 minutes of play.
 
Westminster will next compete in seven-straight away games, starting with Penn State Altoona on Wednesday, September 7 at 6 p.m.
