NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's soccer team opened its 2016 season with a 1-1 tie in double overtime at home versus Otterbein University on Saturday.
Titan first-year
Kayla Trozzi (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) scored the first goal of the game after the ball was deflected off the post with 28:39 remaining.
Otterbein knotted the game, 1-1, two minutes later when Abbey Miltko found Maddison Burchfield who headed the ball to the back of the net.
Junior goalkeeper
Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) had 11 saves on the day.
For the game, the Cardinals out-shot the Titans, 22-8.
Westminster is back in action Monday, September 5 with a home non-conference game versus Adrian College.
