LATROBE, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team split its final two matches at the Saint Vincent College Bearcat Challenge on Saturday.
Junior
Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, PA / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) was named on the All-Tournament Team.
Westminster won 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 26-24, 25-19) over Carlow University in game one and lost 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-21) to The College of Wooster in the second contest.
In the win, three Titans had double-digit kills, led by senior
Lauren Slater (Plum, PA / Oakland Catholic) with a match-high 12. Junior
Kendell Dickson (Cochranton, PA / Cochranton) and Yoho recorded 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
Westminster sophomore
Nikki Beatty (Darlington, PA / Blackhawk) and first-year
Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) each had a team-high three aces. Beatty and Yoho each had two blocks. Sophomore
Ashley Barker (Warren, PA / Warren Area) led Westminster with 20 assists. DeGeorge led the Titan defense with 20 digs, followed by Dickson (12) and Yoho (11).
The Titans will next compete in a tri-match at Chatham University on Wednesday, September 7. Westminster plays La Roche College at 6 p.m. , followed by Chatham for its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener at 8 p.m.
