Volleyball: Titans Compete in Washington & Jefferson Tri-Match

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team lost both of its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matches at Washington & Jefferson College's tri-match on Saturday.
 
The Titans (8-9, 2-4 PAC) lost, 3-2 (25-18, 25-27, 24-26, 25-19, 17-15) to the Presidents (10-2, 4-1 PAC) in game one and lost, 3-0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-16), to Geneva College (10-5, 5-1 PAC) in the second match.
 
Against the Presidents, junior Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, PA / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) led the Titan offense with a match- and career-high 22 kills. Junior Kendell Dickson (Cochranton, PA / Cochranton) and senior Katie Pricener (Wilmerding, PA / Serra Catholic) followed with 13 and 10 kills, respectively. Pricener and Yoho added a match-high seven blocks each. Dickson and senior Megan Little (Slippery Rock, PA / Slippery Rock) guided the Westminster defense with 21 digs apiece, while Yoho added a career-high 20. Sophomore Ashley Barker  (Warren, PA / Warren Area) and first-year Alyssa Peters (Shelocta, PA / West Shamokin) led the Titans in assists with 27 and 17, respectively (both were career-highs).
 
Against the Golden Tornadoes, Dickson paced the offense with six kills, followed by Yoho and sophomore Delaney Saxton (Cortland, OH / Brookfield) who each had three. Dickson also had a team-high three blocks. Barker again led the team with 12 assists. Sophomore Mackensie Garris (Meadville, PA / Saegertown) topped the defense with a career-high 11 digs, followed by first-year Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) (10) and sophomore Rachel Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) (9).
 
Westminster is back in action Thursday, September 29, for its home opener versus Thiel College with a match time of 7 p.m.
