Volleyball: Titans Split Matches at Waynesburg Tri-Match

WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team split its two matches at Waynesburg University's tri-match on Thursday.
 
The Titans (8-4, 2-1 PAC) led 2-0 against Saint Vincent College after winning set one, 26-24, and set two, 25-16. The Bearcats however won three-straight sets, 25-16, 25-16, and 15-9, for the win. Westminster regrouped and shut out Waynesburg, 3-0 (25-8, 25-15, 25-16), in its second contest.
 
Against Saint Vincent (6-6, 2-1 PAC), junior Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, PA / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) led the Titan offense with 12 kills, followed by junior Kendell Dickson (Cochranton, PA / Cochranton) (8) and Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) (6). Dickson registered a match-high six service aces, while Yoho tallied a match-high five blocks. Sophomore Shanna Daniels (Edinburg, PA / Billy C. Ryan) led Westminster with 17 assists, while sophomore Ashley Barker (Warren, PA / Warren Area) had 13. First-year Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) topped the defense with 18 digs, followed by Yoho (10) and Dickson (9).
 
In the Titans' win against the Yellow Jackets (0-9, 0-3 PAC), Yoho once again led the offense with a match-high 13 kills. Sophomore Delaney Saxton (Cortland, OH / Brookfield) and first-year Allison Rebich (Erie, PA / Mercyhurst Prep.) added six kills each. Senior Lauren Slater (Plum, PA / Oakland Catholic) earned a match-high five blocks, while senior Katie Pricener (Wilmerding, PA / Serra Catholic) tallied four. Daniels and Barker led in assists with 14 and 12, respectively. Dickson and senior Megan Little (Rock, PA / Slippery Rock) guided the defense with eight digs apiece.
 
Westminster will next compete in Ohio Wesleyan University's Invitational on Saturday, September 17. The Titans play Defiance College at 10 a.m. and Denison University at 4 p.m.
