Volleyball: Titans Drop Both Matches at Ohio Wesleyan Invite

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Westminster College volleyball team lost both of its matches at Ohio Wesleyan University's Invitational on Saturday.
 
Titan junior Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Player of the Week Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, PA / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) was named on the All-Tournament team.
 
Westminster (8-6) lost, 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-23), to Defiance College (3-7) in the first match and 3-2 (23-25, 25-16, 21-25, 25-21, 15-8) to Denison University (4-9) in the second contest.
 
Against Defiance, Yoho led the Titan offense with eight kills. Junior Kendell Dickson (Cochranton, PA / Cochranton) and sophomore Delaney Saxton (Cortland, OH / Brookfield) added six and five kills, respectively. Sophomore Ashley Barker (Warren, PA / Warren Area) dished out a team-high 15 assists, while sophomore Shanna Daniels (Edinburg, PA / Billy C. Ryan) had eight. Senior Megan Little (Slippery Rock, PA / Slippery Rock) (14), first-year Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) (13), and Dickson (12) led the Titans in digs. Yoho added a team-high three blocks, while senior Lauren Slater (Plum, PA / Oakland Catholic) had two.
 
Against Dension, Yoho and senior Katie Pricener (Wilmerding, PA / Serra Catholic) topped the Westminster offense with 15 and 11 kills, respectively. Barker earned a team-high 20 assists, while first-year Alyssa Peters (Shelocta, PA / West Shamokin) had 10. DeGeorge added three service aces, to go along with a match-high 27 digs. Little and Dickson followed with 20 and 18 digs, respectively. Pricener also had a match-high nine blocks.
 
The Titans will next play at Thomas More College tomorrow, September 18 for a PAC showdown at 1 p.m.
