CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Westminster College baseball team lost, 7-6, at Thomas More College after the Saints scored two runs in their last at bat in a nine-inning Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game on Sunday.
Westminster (2-24, 0-14 PAC) took a 1-0 lead after a run in the first inning and extended its lead to 4-0 following three runs in the top of the third. Thomas More (19-6, 13-1 PAC) cut the Titans' lead to 4-3 after a run each in the third, fourth, and fifth innings. The Saints took their first lead of the game (5-4) with a run in the seventh and eighth innings.

Tyler Bommer (Renfrew, PA / Seneca Valley) and freshman
Michael Douds (Erie, PA / Cathedral Prep) singled in Coyne. In the bottom of the ninth, the Saints tied the game, 6-6, after a Titan error and scored the game-winning run with a fielder's choice. Coyne (1-6) got the loss after coming in for relief; he pitched 1.0 inning, while giving up three runs (none earned) on three hits and walked two. Sophomore
Joseph Salmen (New Castle, PA / Union) got the start and threw 7.0 innings, while giving up four runs on six hits and striking out five.
For the game, the Titans out-hit the Saints, 14-9. Coyne registered a team-high four hits and added two runs scored and two RBIs. Douds also had two RBIs.
Westminster will next play at Bethany College on Friday, April 22 with a 4 p.m. start time.
