BETHANY, W. Va. – The Westminster College softball team won its ninth-straight game and remained undefeated in the conference after a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader sweep at Bethany College on Tuesday.
 
The Titans won 2-0 in game one and 8-2 in the nightcap.
 
Westminster (13-11, 6-0 PAC) scored both of its runs in the top of the fifth inning in game one. Sophomore 
Jazmyn Rohrer (Purcellville, VA / Woodgrove) singled home junior 
Emily Lindsey (Freeport, PA / Freeport) and junior 
Checka Nardone (Ellwood City, PA / Lincoln) scored the second run on an error by Bethany. Rohrer (7-6) pitched a one-hit shutout, her team-best third shutout on the season, in a complete-game effort. She had seven strikeouts and two walks.
 
In the second game, Bethany (9-15, 3-3 PAC) took a 2-0 lead after a two-run home run in the first inning. Titan first-year 
Kailey Liverman (Purcellville, VA / Loudoun Valley) tied the game, 2-2, in the fifth inning with a two-run single. Next up was Rohrer who scored the go-ahead run after she hit home Nardone with a ground out. The Titans added insurance in the sixth inning with five runs; Lindsey had an RBI, while Liverman and Rohrer each had a two-run single. Liverman now has a team-high 27 RBIs on the season, which is also tied for first in the PAC. Senior 
Amber Forrest (Clear Spring, MD / Clear Spring) (6-5) pitched a complete game, while only allowing one earned run (two total) on four hits. She struck out two and walked none.
 
Westminster will next play at Chatham University on Thursday, April 14 in a conference doubleheader. Game one is set for 3 p.m.
