FORT PIERCE, Fla. - The Westminster College baseball team lost, 14-5, to Widener University, in its third game of its Florida trip on Tuesday.

Westminster (0-3) tied the game, 1-1, in the first inning after senior Ryan Dunn (Freeport, PA / Freeport) doubled home junior Ty Ferlin (Latrobe, PA / Ligonier Valley), who led off the inning with a double. Widener took a 2-1 lead with a run in the top of the third. The Titans once again tied the game (2-2) after a sacrifice fly by Dunn in the fifth. Widener blew open the game with a six-run sixth inning and took an 8-2 lead.

The Titans scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut Widener's lead to 8-5, however Widener added four runs in the eighth and two in the ninth to seal the win.

Titan freshman pitcher Sam Hockenberry (Burgettstown, PA / Burgettstown) (0-1) got the loss after coming in for relief in the sixth.
