FORT PIERCE, Fla. - The Westminster College baseball team lost, 14-5, to Widener University, in its third game of its Florida trip on Tuesday.

Westminster (0-3) tied the game, 1-1, in the first inning after senior
Ryan Dunn (Freeport, PA / Freeport) doubled home junior
Ty Ferlin (Latrobe, PA / Ligonier Valley), who led off the inning with a double. Widener took a 2-1 lead with a run in the top of the third. The Titans once again tied the game (2-2) after a sacrifice fly by Dunn in the fifth. Widener blew open the game with a six-run sixth inning and took an 8-2 lead.

The Titans scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut Widener's lead to 8-5, however Widener added four runs in the eighth and two in the ninth to seal the win.

Sam Hockenberry (Burgettstown, PA / Burgettstown) (0-1) got the loss after coming in for relief in the sixth. Freshman
Cody Acon (Industry, PA / Western Beaver) started and pitched five innings and gave up four runs (two earned) on three hits. He struck out two batters and walked the same.

Westminster will play Monmouth College in a doubleheader tomorrow, with game one starting at 10 a.m.
