ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Westminster College baseball team lost, 5-1, at The University of Mount Union in a non-conference nine-inning game on Saturday.
The Purple Raiders (7-7) scored one run in the third inning, three in the seventh, and one in the eighth.
The Titans scored their lone run in the top of the eighth when sophomore
Brandon Rossier (Wexford, PA / North Allegheny) singled home classmate
Seth Magee (Wattsburg, PA / Seneca). Rossier had a team-high two hits, while Mount Union out-hit Westminster 7-5 for the game.
Titan junior
Nate McMaster (Stow, OH / Stow-Munroe Falls) (0-2) got the loss after coming in for relief. McMaster pitched 2.0 innings and gave up one run.
Westminster (1-9) is back in action on Wednesday, March 23 with a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader against Saint Vincent College in its home and PAC opener. Game one is set to start at 2 p.m.
