NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's basketball team lost at home to Saint Vincent College, 68-49, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest Saturday night.
Saint Vincent (11-10, 6-8 PAC) led 16-9 at the end of the first quarter and 31-20 at halftime. Down 44-30 with 1:35 to play in the third, Westminster (2-19, 2-12 PAC) went on an 8-0 run, capped off with a three-pointer by sophomore
Danielle Dindak (West Homestead, PA / Serra Catholic), and cut the Bearcats' lead to 44-38 with 16 seconds remaining. The Titans would get as close as six points again early in the fourth quarter (47-41), but that would be the closest for the remainder of the game.
Sophomore
Kristine Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) led the Titan offense with 13 points, while junior
Rachel Durbin (Lowellville, OH / Lowellville) and Dindak scored eight points each. Sophomore
Ashley McConahy (New Wilmington, PA / Ellwood City) added seven points. Fromknecht, McConahy, and sophomore
Kendell Dickson (Cochranton, PA / Conchranton) registered seven rebounds each. Sophomore
Kylie Cook (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) had six boards. Sophomore
Paige Quinn (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler) led Westminster with four assists, while Durbin pocketed a team-high two steals.
Westminster will next host Bethany College on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m.
