GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Westminster College women's basketball team lost, 59-40, at Grove City College in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action Wednesday night.
Grove City (9-11, 7-6 PAC) never trailed in the first half and had its largest lead of 18 points when McKenzie Black scored a layup, putting the Wolverines in front 30-12 with 49 seconds to play. Grove City led 30-15 at halftime and maintained its double-digit lead for the remainder of the contest.
Sophomore
Kristine Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) and junior
Rachel Durbin (Lowellville, OH / Lowellville) led the Titan offense with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Sophomore
Ashley McConahy (New Wilmington, PA / Ellwood City) added six points, while classmate
Paige Quinn (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler) scored four. Durbin also had team-highs in rebounds (7) and steals (4). Fromknecht registered five rebounds. Dickson had a team- and career-high two blocks.
For the game, Grove City out-shot Westminster 42.6 % (23-54) to 31.6 % (12-38) and held a 39-25 rebound advantage.
Westminster (2-18, 2-11 PAC) will next compete on Saturday with a conference game versus Saint Vincent College on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. for its Alumni Game.
