NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's basketball team won, 67-40, over Penn College in its home opener Monday night.

Kylie Cook (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) tied a game- and season-high with a team-high 20 points. First-year
Emily Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) also scored in double-digits with a season-high 14 points and tied a game- and season-high with a team-best nine rebounds; she also registered a game-high three blocks. Senior
Rachel Durbin (Lowellville, OH / Lowellville) scored nine points, while first-year
Aliya Gage (New Castle, PA / Mohwak) and junior
Kristine Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) each had eight.
Kristine Fromknecht added six boards, while Durbin dished out a game-high six assists.
Leading 19-17 in the first half, Westminster extended its lead (27-17) with an 8-0 run, which started with 29 seconds remaining in the first quarter and ended with 8:08 on the clock in the second. The Titans maintained their lead and were up 33-24 at intermission. Westminster led 52-35 at the end of three and had its largest lead of the game (67-39) with 1:33 remaining in the contest. The Titans outscored the Wildcats 15-5 in the fourth quarter.
Westminster (2-1) outshot Penn College (0-2) 39.3% (24-61) to 26.0% (13-50) and held a 48-30 advantage in rebounds.
The Titans will look to make it three-straight wins with a home game against Pitt-Greensburg on Sunday, November 27. Tip off is set for 2 p.m.
