NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's basketball team won, 65-62, over Pitt-Greensburg in a non-conference game at home Sunday afternoon. 
Four Titans scored in double-digits, led by junior 
Kristine Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) with 16 points. First-year 
Emily Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) (14), sophomore 
Jackie Mathews (Pittsburgh, PA / OLSH) (13), and senior 
Rachel Durbin (Lowellville, OH / Lowellville) (10) also scored in double-figures. Mathews's 13 points marked a career-best, which included a game-high three three-pointers. 
Emily Fromknecht's 14 points tied a career-best, while her game-high 11 rebounds were a career-high. 
Kristine Fromknecht also had seven assists and two blocks, both game-highs. First-year 
Aliya Gage (New Castle, PA / Mohwak) tied a game-high with three steals.
 
The Titans (3-1) outshot the Bobcats (1-5) 37.1% (23-62) to 30.0% (18-60). Pitt-Greensburg held a 46-43 advantage in rebounds.
 
Westminster was down, 8-7, with 5:29 to play in the first quarter, however, it orchestrated a 9-0 run to take a 16-8 lead with 3:39 on the clock.  The Titans held a 27-20 lead with 8:22 to go in the first half. The Bobcats responded with a 7-0 run to tie the game at 27 with 2:45 remaining. Pitt-Greesnburg took a 32-29 lead with a three-pointer by Kelsey Oddis with 2:16 on the clock and led 32-30 at halftime.
 
The Titans regained the lead, 35-33, after Durbin made a layup with 7:18 remaining in the third. Westminster maintained its lead for the remainder of the quarter. Pitt-Greensburg took a 52-48 lead after a three-pointer by Colleen Murphy with 7:58 remaining in the game. The Titans answered with a 10-0 run and led 58-52 after Mathews drained a three-pointer with 5:35 on the clock. The Bobcats, down 65-62, had two chances to tie the game in the final seconds, but a pair of three-point attempts came up short.
 
Westminster will next host Thiel College in its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener on Wednesday, November 30. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
