Volleyball: Geneva Rallies Past Westminster, 3-2

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team lost, 3-2, to Geneva College at home in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest Saturday afternoon.
 
Westminster (12-14, 5-9 PAC) was up 2-0 after winning set one, 25-20, and set two, 28-26. Geneva (18-6, 12-1 PAC) responded with set three (25-20) and four (25-16) wins to even the match 2-2. In the final set, Westminster was in front, 6-1. The Golden Tornadoes, however, went on a 7-2 run to tie the set, 8-8. Geneva took the lead and never lost it, while out-scoring Westminster 7-2 for the remainder of the set.
 
Junior Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, PA / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) led the Titan offense with 13 kills, followed by first-year Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) (11) and junior Kendell Dickson (Cochranton, PA / Cochranton) (8). DeGeorge added a team-high three service aces, while Dickson had two. Yoho tied a match-high with a team-high seven blocks. Senior Katie Pricener (Wilmerding, PA / Serra Catholic) and Dickson added four and three blocks, respectively. Sophomore Ashley Barker (Warren, PA / Warren Area) earned a team-high 21 assists, while first-year Molly Parker (North Huntingdon, PA / Norwin) had 15. Dickson and senior Megan Little (Slippery Rock, PA / Slippery Rock) led the Titan defense with 21 digs apiece, while DeGeorge registered 20.
 
The Titans will next play in Grove City College's tri-match on Saturday, October 22. Westminster will play Grove City at 11 a.m. and The College of Wooster at 1 p.m.
