PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Westminster College volleyball team lost its first two matches in day one of the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational on Friday.
Westminster (4-13) lost the first match in five sets against John Carroll University (5-9). John Carroll won set one 25-12. The Titans evened the match 1-1 after a 25-22 set two win. After the Blue Streaks won set three, 25-18, the Titans tied it once again at 2-2 with a 25-23 set four win. John Carroll clinched the win with a 15-6 set five victory.
The Titans' lost their second match against Stevenson University (12-4), 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-17).

Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, PA / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) had a team-high 13 kills combined, followed by senior
Megan Prybyl (Mars, PA / North Catholic) with nine. Senior
Tiffany Jackson (Las Vegas, NV / Las Vegas) registered a team-high 26 assists combined. First-year
Shanna Daniels (Edinburg, PA / Billy C. Ryan, TX) and Prybyl led the Westminster defense on the night with 23 and 22 doubles, respectively. First-year
Nikki Beatty (Darlington, PA / Blackhawk) had a team-best five blocks combined.
The Titans will finish out the invitational on Saturday with matches against Brooklyn College at 11 a.m. and Case Western Reserve at 1 p.m.
