NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - A goal by senior Rachel Simko (New Castle, PA / Laurel) five minutes into the game was all the Westminster College women's soccer team needed as the Titans won 1-0 over the visiting La Roche College Redhawks Tuesday night. Sophomore Melissa Thomas (Hubbard, OH / Hubbard) earned the assist.

The Titans improved to 6-0-1 overall, while the Redhawks dropped to 3-2-0.

Titan sophomore goalkeeper Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) collected a season-high seven saves in a complete-match effort.

For the game, Westminster out-shot La Roche 14-9, led by first-year Keely Birsic (N Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic) who had a team-high five shots with two on goal.

Westminster will next compete at Allegheny on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 4 p.m.
