Volleyball: Yoho Named on All-Tournament Team, Westminster Finishes Marcia French Invitational

CLEVELAND, Ohio -The Westminster College volleyball team concluded the two-day 17th Annual Marcia French Memorial Invitational on Saturday.

Titan sophomore Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, PA / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) was named on the All-Tournament team. She registered a team-high 30 kills over the weekend, while adding 10 digs and six blocks.

The event was hosted by Baldwin Wallace College and Case Western Reserve University.

On Saturday, the Titans (0-9) lost 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-13) to Case Western Reserve University (9-0) in the first match and lost 3-1 (25-8, 23-25, 25-16, 25-13) to Carnegie Mellon University (11-0) in match two.

Yoho led the Titan offense on Saturday with a total of 14 kills, while senior Megan Prybyl (Mars, PA / North Catholic) had 12. First-year Shanna Daniels (Edinburg, PA / Billy C. Ryan, TX) dished-out a team-high 39 assists combined, while senior Tiffany Jackson (Las Vegas, NV / Las Vegas) tallied 17.

On defense, Hope Wilterdink (Hermitage, PA / Hickory) registered a team- and career-high 18 digs (all against Carnegie Mellon). Senior Kelsey Kilbane (Medina, OH / Medina) earned 17 digs combined, followed by Daniels with 15. Junior Lauren Slater (New Kensington, PA / Oakland Catholic) added a team-best three total blocks.

Westminster will look to get in the win column on Tuesday when it competes at Chatham University for a Tri-Match with La Roche College at 6 p.m. and Chatham at 8 p.m.
