BEREA, Ohio - The Westminster College volleyball team lost both of its matches in day one of the Marcia French Memorial Invitational on Friday. The event is being hosted by Baldwin Wallace College and Case Western Reserve University.
The Titans (0-7) lost 3-0 (25-18,25-15,25-10) to Baldwin Wallace (7-1) in the first match and lost 3-0 Â (25-16,25-16,25-23)Â to Hiram College (4-3)Â in match two.
On the night, Titan sophomore
Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, PA / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) led Westminster on offense with a combined 16 kills, while first-year
Delaney Saxton (Cortland, OH / Brookfield) added 12. Three Titans had double-digit digs combined, including first-year
Rachel Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) (12), senior
Kelsey Kilbane (Medina, OH / Medina) (10), and senior
Megan Prybyl (Mars, PA / North Catholic) (10). Junior
Lauren Slater (New Kensington, PA / Oakland Catholic) had a team-high five blocks combined, while Yoho and first-year
Nikki Beatty (Darlington, PA / Blackhawk) each registered four. First-year
Shanna Daniels (Edinburg, PA / Billy C. Ryan, TX) dished-out a team-best total of 36 assists.
Westminster will finish the Invitational tomorrow with two more matches. The Titans will face Case Western Reserve at 10 a.m. and Carnegie Mellon University at 12 p.m.
