NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's basketball team lost, 93-47, to the no. 1 nationally ranked Thomas More College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest at home Saturday afternoon.
Thomas More (5-0, 2-0 PAC) out-scored Westminster (0-6, 0-2 PAC) 19-8 in the first quarter and 29-9 in the second. The Saints led 48-17 at halftime.
The Saints out-scored the Titans 28-10 in the third quarter, however, the Titans out-scored Thomas More 20-17 in the fourth.
Three Titans scored in double-digits, led by sophomore
Kristine Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) with 11 points. Sophomore
Kylie Cook (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) and classmate
Danielle Dindak (West Homestead, PA / Serra Catholic) each scored 10 points. Dindak registered a game-high three three-pointers. Fromknecht also led Westminster on the glass with eight rebounds. Sophomore
Paige Quinn (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler) added five rebounds, while sophomore
Ashley McConahy (New Wilmington, PA / Ellwood City) had a team-high two assists.
Thomas More out-shot Westminster 47.7% (31-65) to 25.5% (13-51).
The Titans are back in action Saturday, Dec. 12, when they travel to Waynesburg University. Tipoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
