Men’s Basketball: Titans Lose, 75-66, at Baldwin Wallace

BEREA, Ohio - The Westminster College men's basketball team lost, 75-66, at Baldwin Wallace University in a non-conference game Tuesday night.

Westminster (0-5) took its largest lead of the first half at 18-15 when sophomore Deontay Scott (Youngstown, OH / East) scored a layup with 8:56 remaining. Tied at 24, Baldwin Wallace (4-1) finished the half on a 12-4 run and took its largest lead, 36-28, at intermission.

In the second half, Westminster cut the deficit to 36-34 when senior Charlie Wallander (Pittsburgh, PA / Baldwin) scored a layup with 18:14 on the clock. The Yellow Jackets responded with a 19-12 run and led 55-46 with 10:23 remaining. Westminster got within two points again of Baldwin Wallace's lead after a 7-0 run, which was topped off by a three-pointer by sophomore Brandon Domenick (New Castle, PA / New Castle) with 8:03 left.

The Yellow Jackets maintained their lead and Westminster got as close as three points after freshman AJ Grant (Warren, OH / Warren JFK) converted on an old-fashioned three-point play with 6:16 remaining. That, however, would be the closest the Titans would get for the remainder of the game.

Three Titans scored in double-digits, led by sophomore Jarret Vrabel (Canfield, OH / Canfield) with 12 points, who also had a team-high six rebounds. Junior Jason Pilarski (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood) and Wallander each registered 11 points. Pilarski pocketed a game-high three steals. Sophomore Brandon Domenick (New Castle, PA / New Castle) added eight points and a game-high four assists.

Westminster is back on the court next Wednesday, Dec. 2, with its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener at home versus Chatham University at 8 p.m.
