Men’s Soccer: Titans End 2015 Season at NCAA Division III Tournament

GAMBIER, Ohio - The Westminster College men's soccer team lost, 1-0, to the nationally ranked Kenyon College in the final minutes of regulation in the First Round of the 2015 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

Henry Myers of Kenyon scored the game-winner at the 85:27 mark with a header to the top right corner of the net. Jeremiah Barnes earned the assist.

For the game, the Lords (18-1-0) out-shot the Titans 17-1.

Titan senior goalkeeper Tyler Little (Slippery Rock, PA / Slippery Rock) earned four saves in a complete-game effort.

Westminster (11-6-4) was making its fifth appearance in the NCAA tournament. The last time the Titans were involved in tournament play was in 2008 when they defeated Hunter College in the first round and lost to Montclair State University in the second round.

Coming into today's contest, Kenyon was ranked No. 1 nationally in the most recent D3soccer.com poll and ranked No. 5 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll.

Saturday's game was the first-ever meeting between Kenyon and Westminster.

The Titans won their fourth Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) title after winning a penalty-kick shootout over Geneva College in the PAC Championship game. Westminster advanced to the Finals after upsetting the No. 2 nationally ranked Thomas More College, 2-1, in the Semifinals. Titan sophomore Zack Walters (Hermitage, PA / Hickory) scored the game-winner with less than 30 seconds remaining in regulation.
