Matthew Kiernan (Venetia, PA / Upper St. Clair) scored a game-high two goals, guiding the Westminster College men's soccer team to a 4-0 win at Waynesburg College on Saturday.
Freshman
Shane Fallen (Blue Bell, PA / Wissahickon) scored the first goal in the 15th minute, the first goal of his collegiate career. Senior
Stephen McDaniel (Jamestown, NC / Southwest Guilford) extended Westminster's lead with a goal, his second of the year, at the 33:17 mark.
Kiernan scored both of his goals in the second half and less than four minutes apart. Senior
Ethan McCarthy (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) found Kiernan for a score at the 55:29 mark and senior
Marcus Gurgiolo (Edinburg, PA / Mohawk) connected with Kiernan at the 58:43 mark.
Titan senior goalkeeper
Tyler Little (Slippery Rock, PA / Slippery Rock) earned the win in 71:59 minutes of work, while collecting one save.
For the game, The Titans out-shot the Yellow Jackets 25-3.
Westminster finished the regular season with an overall record of 10-5-3 (5-2-1 in the PAC), while the Yellow Jackets ended their season 1-16-1 overall and 1-6-1.
The Titans have clinched a spot in the four-team PAC Championships, which begins next Tuesday. The final seedings will be determined at the conclusion of Saturday's games.
