Volleyball: Titans Drop Two at Grove City Tri-Match

GROVE CITY, Pa. - The Westminster College volleyball team (7-17, 5-5 PAC) lost both of its matches at the Grove City College tri-match on Saturday. The Titans lost 3-0 (25-7, 25-20, 25-17) to Grove City in their first match and rallied after being down 2-0 in match two versus Washington & Jefferson, but lost 3-2 (25-15, 25-22, 20-25, 22-25, 15-13).

Against Grove City (7-11, 5-3 PAC), first-year Delaney Saxton (Cortland, OH / Brookfield) and senior Megan Prybyl (Mars, PA / North Catholic) led the Titan offense with seven kills each. Sophomore Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, PA / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) added six kills. Prybyl also led the Westminster defense as she tied a match-high with 13 digs. First-year Shanna Daniels also tallied double-digit digs with 10 and also led all players with 18 assists. First-year Rachel Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) added eight digs.

In Westminster's second match against the Presidents (8-7, 5-3 PAC), three Titans had double-figure kills, paced by Prybyl with 15. Yoho and Saxton had 11 and 10 kills, respectively.  Daniels registered a match- and career-high 42 assists. Four Titans had double-digit digs, led by Prybyl with 23. Junior Megan Little (Slippery Rock, PA / Slippery Rock) and senior Erin Kennedy (Oakmont, PA / Riverview) each had 17 digs. Senior Kelsey Kilbane (Medina, OH / Medina) and Daniels notched 16 and 14 digs, respectively. Yoho had a match-high five blocks.

Westminster will next host Geneva College in PAC action Wednesday at 7 p.m.
