Volleyball: Titans Drop Two in Home Tri-Match

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College volleyball team lost both of its matches in its home tri-match on Saturday. The Titans lost 3-0 to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Thomas More College and 3-1 to Haverford College.

Against the Saints (17-3, 15-0 PAC), Westminster was in the lead for the majority of the first set. Thomas More took its first lead when it went in front 14-13. Tied 24-24, the Saints won the set after two-straight kills. Thomas More won the match after a 25-9 set two win and a 25-12 set three win.

Sophomore Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, PA / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) led the Titan offense with seven kills, followed by first-year Delaney Saxton (Cortland, OH / Brookfield) with five. First-year Shanna Daniels (Edinburg, PA / Billy C. Ryan, TX) and senior Tiffany Jackson (Las Vegas, NV / Las Vegas) registered 11 and eight assists, respectively. First-year Rachel Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) led the defense with a match-high 17 digs. Senior Erin Kennedy (Oakmont, PA / Riverview) and Jackson added seven and six digs, respectively. Saxton added a career- and match-high four blocks. Yoho and junior Katie Pricener (Wilmerding, PA / Serra Catholic) added three blocks apiece.

Haverford (14-7) won set one 25-19 and set two 25-14. Westminster won set three, 25-21, before the Fords won the match with a 25-13 set four win. Yoho once again led the offense with a match-high 17 kills, while Moore guided the defense with a match-best 17 digs. Pricener added a career-high eight kills, while first-year Mackensie Garris (Meadville, PA / Saegertown) tallied a career-best five kills. Jackson had a team-high 17 assists. Daniels registered 14 assists, to go along with nine digs. Yoho added eight digs. Sophomore Callie Jacobs (Pittsburgh, PA / Bishop Canevin) and Pricener had a team-high two blocks each.

Westminster (8-23, 5-9 PAC) will next travel at Thiel College on Thursday with a 7 p.m. start time.
