GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Westminster College football team won 49-6, its largest margin of victory in 15 years, over Thiel College on Saturday.
The Titans led 42-0 at halftime.
Freshman
Bryson Paulinellie (DuBois, PA / Dubois Area) accounted for a team-best three touchdowns. Paulinellie had a 56-yard punt return for a score and two touchdown receptions: a 33-yarder and a two-yard score.
The Titan defense forced five turnovers, including two interceptions returned for a touchdown as junior
Wayne Seamans (New Castle, PA / Union Area) returned one for 25 yards and sophomore
Todd Jeter (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) ran back one for 37 yards.
Westminster sophomore
Dominique McKinley (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg-Salem) rushed for a game- and career-high 186 yards off 16 carries (11.6 avg) and a score. He now has four 100-yard games for his career.
Titan sophomore quarterback
Shamon Walker (Pittsburgh, PA / Milton Hershey) went 9-for-13 for 105 yards and two scores. He also added a touchdown on the ground, while running for 67Â yards off six carries.
For the game, Westminster out-gained Thiel 387 yards (280 rushing/107 passing) to 225 yards (56 rushing/169 passing).
Westminster junior
Mac Quinn (Pittsburgh, PA / Northgate) led the Titan defense with eight tackles, including one for a loss, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Freshman
Miguel Luis (Hollywood, FL / Mater Academy) had five tackles and an interception. Freshman
Marvin Liberiste (Naples, FL / Lely) had the fourth Titan interception.
Westminster won 51-7 against Thiel in 2000.
Thiel spoiled the shutout with six-yard touchdown by Nick Black with in the fourth quarter.
The Titans will travel to Waynesburg University next Saturday at 1:30 p.m. before entering their bye week.
