Last week the College Football Hall of Fame released its 2011 ballot and once again there is a Westminster presence. For Divisional Player Candidates, voters can selected up to two out of 19 NAIA players including former Titans Brad Tokar and Joe Micchia (pictured to the right).
The official news release only includes the players and coaches on the Bowl Subdivision Ballot, but Tokar and Micchia appear in the 24-page NFF Footballetter ballot issue. The issue is mailed to more than 12,000 NFF members and current Hall of Famers whose votes will be tabulated and submitted to the NFF's Honors Court, which deliberates and selects the class.
Tokar has been on the ballot for several years and this is Micchia's second year on the ballot.
There are four Titan greats enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Ind. They include QB Harold Davis (1953-56) in the Class of 2004, coach Joe Fusco (1972-90) in the Class of 2001, OG/LB Larry Pugh (1961-64) in the Class of 1998, and coach Harold Burry (1952-71) in the inaugural non-NCAA Division I Class of 1996.
Here are the capsules for both Tokar and Micchia with their credentials.
