Women's Soccer: Grove City Prevents Titans From Making PAC Playoffs

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - With a spot in next week's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tournament on the line, the Westminster College women's soccer team absorbed a 2-0 season-ending loss to visiting Grove City Saturday night at Harold Burry Stadium.

The Titans finish the season with a 7-10-1 record and a 5-4 mark in the PAC, while the Wolverines improve to 10-6-2 overall and 7-2 in the league. A Westminster win would've qualified the Titans for the PAC Tournament as one of the top four teams.

Grove City scored in the sixth minute on a goal by Sam Weber. Arielle Goyzueta scored off Grace Rieman's corner kick in the 88th minute to put the game away.

Grove City outshot the Titans 18-5.

Westminster junior goalkeeper Jenn Cantella (Freedom, Pa./Freedom) made nine saves.

Tiffany Yost posted the shutout for Grove City by making two saves.
