NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team evened its conference record by shutting out visiting Bethany, 2-0, Wednesday night at Harold Burry Stadium. The Titans improve to 5-9-1 overall and 3-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), while the Bison fall to 7-7 overall and 3-3 in league matches.
Senior midfielder Samantha Killmeyer (Medina, Ohio/Highland) scored off a free kick in the 15th minute to put the Titans on the board. Killmeyer's team-leading third goal of the season was assisted by senior defender Tyler Dever (Salt Lake City, Utah/Highland).
The Titans went up 2-0 with 58 seconds left in the first half as sophomore forward Amanda Turi (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) scored her first goal of the season and the second of her career on a cross from the right side by Dever, who assisted on both goals.
Junior goalkeeper Jenn Cantella (Freedom, Pa./Freedom) made seven saves in 88 minutes.
Westminster outshot Bethany, 15-14.
Westminster hosts Chatham Saturday at 3 p.m.
