Women's Soccer: Titans Shut Out in First Loss at Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio - Entering Wednesday night's nonconference game at Mount Union, the Westminster College women's soccer team had won all three of its game this season by shutout. This time, however, the Titans were on the losing end as Mount Union handed Westminster its first loss of the season, 2-0. The Titans are now 3-1 on the season and the Purple Raiders win their first game of the season to improve to 1-1-2.

Mount Union scored both goals in the second half unassisted, with Alyssa Flitcraft scoring in the 67th minute and Katie Etling adding an insurance goal in the 80th minute.

Aubree Lieberman got the shutout for the Purple Raiders by making seven saves.

Westminster sophomore goalkeeper Jenn Cantella (Freedom, Pa./Freedom) conceded her first two goals of the season while making six saves.

Westminster outshot Mount Union 20-13 with seniors Danielle Struble (Curwensville, Pa./Curwensville) and Sarah Nee (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) attempting five shots apiece.

Westminster has the weekend off before traveling to Point Park on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
