Women's Soccer: Koontz Scores Twice in Titans' Win Over Oberlin

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team won its first home game of the season Friday and its second straight game by a 3-0 score when the Titans shut out visiting Oberlin in non-conference action.

The Titans are now 2-0 on the year and Oberlin falls to 1-1.

Freshman forward Kristen Koontz (New Paris, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) scored the first two goals of her college career by extended Westminster's lead to 2-0 and 3-0 in the 40th and 54th minutes, respectively. Koontz's goal just before halftime was assisted by freshman forward Nikki Betters-Dung (Honolulu, Hawaii/St. Andrews Priory) while freshman midfielder Kristina Tissue (Coraopolis, Pa./West Allegheny) helped on Koontz's second-half goal.

Senior forward Sarah Nee (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) scored her fourth goal of the season and the 40th of her career as her game-winning tally came just 8:30 into the match on an assist by junior Tyler Dever (Salt Lake City, Utah/Highland).

Sophomore goalkeeper Jenn Cantella (Freedom, Pa./Freedom) made seven saves for the shutout.

Westminster hosts Pitt-Johnstown Saturday at noon.
