Women's Soccer: Scoreless Tie Ends Titans' Seven-Game Win Streak

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team saw its seven-game win streak foiled by a scoreless tie in double overtime vs. Washington & Jefferson Friday night in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play at Harold Burry Stadium.

The Titans are now 11-2-2 on the season and 2-0-1 in the PAC while the Presidents are 9-5-1 and 1-1-1 in league play.

W&J had a chance midway through the second overtime when Beth Reefer's corner kick gave Molly Macioce two shots at the mouth of the goal, one deflected and the other stopped by Westminster junior goalkeeper Lindsey Mellott (Cortland, Ohio/Lakeview).

Mellott made three saves in 110 minutes for the shutout. The Presidents' Jackie Foltz made seven saves also for the shutout.

Westminster held a 16-7 shot advantage including three attempts in the first overtime. Senior midfielder Christina Adams (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) led the Titans with four shots including three on goal.

Westminster returns to action at Bethany Tuesday for a 2 p.m. kick off.
