Women's Soccer: Titans Shut Out Geneva in First Game at Burry Stadium

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team defeated Geneva, 4-0, at home Saturday in the first-ever soccer game played on the artificial turf at Harold Burry Stadium.

Westminster improves to 10-2-1 while Geneva falls to 5-3-3 on the season.

Senior forward Christina Adams (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) posted her second three-goal game of the season as she scored all three Westminster goals in the first half. Adams now has a team-high 14 goals for the season.

Freshman forward Tyler Dever (Salt Lake City, Utah/Highland) assisted on both of Adams' first two goals.

Freshman midfielder Amanda Embry (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) scored her first collegiate goal late in the second half.

Three Westminster goalkeepers combined for the shutout including junior Lindsey Mellott (Cortland, Ohio/Lakeview), junior Christine Clawges (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) and freshman Kara Kendall (New Wilmington, Pa./Wilmington).

The Titans host Thiel on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 9 p.m.
