NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team clinched the No. 1 seed in next week's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament with a 4-0 win at home against Thomas More Saturday.
Senior forward Andrew Saporito (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) scored the game's final three goals in the 15th, 57th and 65th minutes, giving him nine on the season.
Senior midfielder Garrett Horvath (Southlake, Texas/Southlake Carroll) scored the game-winner in the 10th minutes and assisted on Saporito's final goal. Horvath leads the team this year with 13 goals.
Freshman goalkeeper Mike Codita (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) made three saves in 60 minutes in net for the Titans, as Westminster out-shot the Saints, 15-7.
As the top seed, Westminster (10-5-3, 5-0-1 PAC) will again host Thomas More (12-5, 3-3 PAC), the fourth seed, in the PAC semifinal round Wednesday.
