Rosanne Scott was named to her new position as Assistant Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) on Oct. 7, 2026 following a distinguished 24-year tenure as Westminster’s head women’s basketball coach.
In her new role, Scott will provide leadership in NCAA Division III compliance and eligibility while serving as a resource for coaches, staff and student-athletes. Her responsibilities include coordinating the department’s annual compliance and eligibility processes, overseeing NCAA rules education, maintaining eligibility records, monitoring factors affecting student-athlete eligibility and working with campus offices on compliance matters.Â
Scott will also serve as a member of Westminster Athletics' administrative leadership team, helping foster a culture in which NCAA compliance is viewed as a shared responsibility throughout the department. The position includes representing Westminster College in interactions with the NCAA, the PAC and other governing organizations.
Scott took over the Westminster women’s basketball program in April 2002 at just 24 years old and went on to record 279 career victories. She guided the Titans to three 20-win seasons and NCAA Division III Championship Tournament appearances in 2005 and 2007. Her 2005 team captured Westminster’s first Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, while the 2007 squad set a school record with 22 wins.
Throughout her coaching career, Scott built strong relationships with generations of Westminster student-athletes and developed a deep knowledge of the College, its people and its traditions. She coached four of Westminster’s top five all-time scorers — Erica Tallo, Desiree Sterling, Emilee Ackerman and Natalie Murrio — and led her teams to four Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Team Academic Honor Roll distinctions.
Scott is a 2000 graduate of Bethany College in Bethany, W.Va., where, as a player, she earned two honorable mentions for the All-America team. She was also twice named PAC Player of the Year and earned First Team All-PAC honors all four years. Scott was inducted into the Bethany College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013. A native of nearby Struthers, Ohio, Scott completed her master’s degree in counselor education at Westminster. She resides in New Wilmington.
