Mitch Snyder joined interim head coach EJ White's staff as the defensive coordinator in June 2026. Snyder brings more than a decade of coaching experience across the high school, Division II and Division III levels, with extensive experience in defensive game planning, secondary development, recruiting and program organization.

Snyder most recently served as the co-defensive coordinator, defensive backs coach and video coordinator at Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he helped lead the defense while coordinating its installation, concepts, schemes and day-to-day operations. He coached the Pointers' cornerbacks, safeties and nickel positions while overseeing defensive practices, game planning, opponent breakdown, scouting reports, playbooks and film. Snyder also played a significant role in recruiting across Wisconsin, Minnesota, Wyoming, the Dakotas and Illinois, while assisting in Iowa and Michigan and served as the program's head of transfer recruitment. 

Prior to Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Snyder spent seven seasons at IUP as a defensive backs coach, recruiting coordinator and assistant coach. During his tenure, IUP produced several nationally-ranked defenses, including a 2019 unit that ranked 23rd nationally in total defense and first in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). The 2022 defense ranked 28th nationally in total defense and 25th in red-zone defense as IUP won the conference championship and advanced to the Division II national semifinals. Snyder coached numerous All-PSAC and All-Region selections during his time with the Crimson Hawks.

A western Pennsylvania native, Snyder began his collegiate coaching career at IUP as the football head strength and conditioning coach and assistant defensive backs coach after previously coaching at Blairsville High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in physical education and sport with an exercise science track and concentration in strength and conditioning from IUP. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Snyder has extensive experience in recruiting operations, strength and conditioning, academic support and player development.
