Megan Sefcik was named the interim head coach of the Westminster College women's basketball program on Oct. 7, 2026 after serving as an assistant coach with the program for seven seasons.

Sefcik joined the Westminster coaching staff in 2019-20 following a distinguished playing career at the University of Akron. She appeared in 107 games over her five-year career with the Zips after redshirting her freshman season due to an ACL injury. Sefcik finished her career with 1,059 points and averaged a career-best 17.2 points per game as a senior. She was a two-time team captain and earned Second Team All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) honors following her senior season.

A prolific three-point shooter, Sefcik set an Akron single-game record with 10 three-pointers while tying the MAC record for most three-pointers made in a single game. She was also a three-time Academic All-MAC selection.

Prior to her collegiate career, Sefcik was a standout at Austintown Fitch High School, where she was a four-time All-Conference selection, a McDonald's All-American nominee and an All-State selection as a senior.

Sefcik graduated cum laude from Akron with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education in 2018. She earned a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from Westminster in 2021.
