Jared Heck wrapped up his 10th season on head coach Scott Benzel's staff in 2025. He's currently serving as the associate head coach, defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator.

Heck worked as the Titans' defensive backs coach for three seasons (2015-17) before taking a position at Ball State University in 2018 as a defensive graduate assistant. He returned to New Wilmington in 2019, working primarily with the defensive backs. Heck took over duties as special teams coordinator in 2019 before adding the defensive pass game coordinator title in 2021. He was promoted to defensive coordinator in 2022 and added associate head coach duties prior to the 2024 season.

A disruptive coordinator focused on speed and versatility, Heck’s 2025 unit finished sixth in Division III in rushing defense (60.0 yards/game), seventh in scoring defense (12.9 points/game) and 15th in total defense (254.5 yards/game). The Titans generated 29 turnovers, the fifth-most in Division III, in 2025.

Heck helped guide four Titans to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Year honors: Todd Jeter in 2017, Ian Barr in the unprecedented 2020-21 spring COVID-19 season, Brayden Thimons in 2021 and 2022 and Dylan Sleva in 2025. Jeter (2017), Barr (2020-21), Thimons (2020-21, 2021) and Bryce Thomas (2020-21) went on to earn All-America honors.

Kevin Wright (2021) and Lamont Austin (2024), a pair of physical defensive backs, were voted PAC Newcomer of the Year award winners.

Heck, who played his senior season under Benzel, earned Honorable Mention All-PAC distinction for his play at safety following the 2014 season. He was awarded the David B. Fawcett award at the College's annual WESPYs (Westminster Exceptional Sports Performances of the Year) awards show, which is given annually to honor and acknowledge an individual who best exemplify the qualities of fairness, sportsmanship, leadership, determination and competitiveness.

A Pittsburgh native, Heck graduated from North Hills High School in 2011.

Heck, a mathematics major at Westminster, was a three-year member of Westminster's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), serving as treasurer for two years. He was also a member of the Student Government Association (SGA) and the Student Life and Athletic Council.
