Danny Files joined interim head coach EJ White's staff in June 2026 as the offensive line coach. He brings experience at both the FBS and FCS levels, along with a background in coaching the offensive line and running backs, special teams, game preparation, player development and recruiting.
Files most recently served as an assistant offensive line/running backs coach and special teams assistant at Valparaiso, where he worked extensively in opponent preparation and weekly game planning. His responsibilities included breaking down opponent film, assisting with weekly game plans, running the scout team front seven and developing opponent blitz and run reports. Files also created and implemented an in-season situational self-scouting report while assisting with the recruitment of student-athletes for Valparaiso's offensive line and running backs rooms.
Prior to Valparaiso, Files worked with Rising Stars Training and Recruiting Services in the Metro Detroit area, training Division I prospects and assisting with their recruitment to FBS and FCS programs. He also spent the 2024 season as a student coaching intern with the offensive line at Coastal Carolina, where he gained experience in opponent film breakdown, game-plan development, recruiting camps, individual position instruction, mobility programming and self-scouting.
Files, a native of Lake Orion, Michigan and graduate of Cranbrook Kingswood High School, earned a bachelor's degree in sports management from Valparaiso in 2023 before earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Coastal Carolina in 2024. A two-time Pioneer Football League (PFL) Academic Honor Roll selection, he also served three years on Valparaiso's Leadership Council.Â
