Craig Hannon '08 joined the Westminster College men's basketball program as an assistant coach on June 12, 2025. 

Hannon and head coach David Richards '09, both New Castle natives, played together at Westminster for three seasons. Westminster's 2007 team finished the year 18-9 and earned the program's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship field. 

"We're thrilled to welcome Craig back to the program," said Richards. "His legacy as a player at Westminster is unquestioned, and his deep understanding of the game is going to make an immediate impact here. Craig's unique perspective will definitely help us pursue the championship goals we're setting here." 

A four-time All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) selection, Hannon is the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,717 points and graduated as Westminster's all-time made three-point field goals leader (355) while holding the program record for made three-pointers in a season, with 114, in 2005-06. He was inducted into the Titan Sports Hall of Fame in 2016. 

Hannon studied public relations at Westminster, graduating in 2008. He went on to complete the Teacher Education Evening Licensure (TEEL) Program at Notre Dame College of Ohio in 2011. Since 2012, Hannon served as the head boys basketball coach at Girard High School while working as an intervention specialist with Girard City Schools, providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities. 

"This is an exciting opportunity for my family and me, especially getting to do it alongside Coach Richards," said Hannon. "I look forward to working with him, helping to achieve our goals for the program and bring Westminster basketball back to its place as one of the flagship programs in the PAC".

Hannon and his wife, Marissa (DeMase) Hannon '09, have three children: a daughter, Kennedy (8), and two, sons Max (6) and Maverick (6).
