Rabekah Thomas joined head coach Girish Thakar's women's soccer staff in June 2026, bringing extensive coaching experience and more than two decades of playing experience. She spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Poland Seminary High School, where she also served as the head junior varsity coach and helped guide the Bulldogs to three consecutive conference championships from 2023-25. Thomas also helped Poland's varsity team capture the Northeast 8 Conference championship in 2023 and advance to the district finals in 2023, regional finals in 2024 and regional semifinals in 2025.
Thomas' responsibilities at Poland Seminary extended across all areas of the program. She created practices and skill-training sessions, assisted with workouts, lifting, cardio and strength training, developed game strategies and plays, and oversaw team film review and team-building activities. She also supervised multiple summer soccer clinics for community youth and assisted players with rehabilitation while educating coaches and student-athletes on emergency procedures. Prior to joining the varsity staff, Thomas volunteered with Poland Seminary's soccer program during the 2021-22 seasons, helping with summer training, practices, conditioning and tournament preparation.
A native of Poland, Ohio, Thomas began coaching at the youth level with the Poland Youth Soccer Association, where she worked with local teams, assisted with coaching, helped organize summer soccer clinics, refereed games and planned fundraising activities. She also gained collegiate soccer experience as a five-year member of the Heidelberg women's soccer program from 2018-23. During her time at Heidelberg, Thomas earned Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC)Â recognition and was involved with the program's community service efforts, including youth coaching, recruitment activities and local service projects.
Thomas earned a bachelor's degree in health science from Heidelberg in 2022 before completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA)Â in 2023. She graduated magna cum laude, earned Dean's List recognition and holds a Fundamentals of Coaching course certification through the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), in addition to CPR, concussion and first aid certifications.Â
