Brianna Murgi

Brianna Murgi enters her second season as an assistant coach for the women's soccer team for the 2021 season.

Murgi joined the Westminster coaching staff after a four-year playing career at Wheeling Jesuit University. Murgi was a four-year starter as a defender for the Cardinals and started in all but three games on the backline (5,600 total minutes) in her collegiate career. Murgi was a 2019 Mountain East Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient. 

In high school, Murgi boasted a career at Upper Saint Clair H.S. where she was a member of the 2015 PIAA Class AAA State Championship Team. Also in that season, the Panthers were WPIAL AAA finalists and Sectional Champions, while Murgi was named to the All-Section Team. Murgi was also a member of the 2014 Sectional Championship team and the 2016 Region One finalist squad. In club soccer, Murgi helped lead the Beadling Soccer Club to the 2016 PA West State Cup Championship.

Most recently, Murgi completed a coaching stint as the Head Coach of the FC Wheeling United Soccer Club. Under Murgi, FC Wheeling United were U18 Nike Cup Finalists, U18 Beavercreek Classic finalists and four players committed to play collegiate soccer in Murgi's tenure. Murgi is currently a USSF D License candidate.

Murgi was also the Assistant Girl's Soccer Coach at Wheeling Park High School, where the team compiled a record of 18-1-3 during her time there. In her one season as a coach, Wheeling Park were OVAC Finalists, Section 1 Class AAA Champions and Region 1 Class AAA Champions. Under Murgi's guidance, five players earned All-Region First Team recognition, four players earned All-State status (three first team) and one player was ranked No. 3 in West Virginia (No. 97 in the country). 

In the Spring of 2020, Murgi graduated from Wheeling Jesuit with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science with a Minor in Psychology.
