Laina Walker enters her second year as an assistant coach for the Westminster softball team for the 2018 season.
Laina was a four-year varsity softball player at Muskingum University. She was the starting first baseman for the 2014 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) season and tournament championship team for the Fighting Muskies. Laina also played a vital role in recruitment, instructed at camps, gave on-campus tours, and served on question and answer panels for incoming recruits.
Additionally, Laina coached the Armstrong Force travel softball team, which she taught the skills of softball as well as leadership qualities, communication, and teamwork. She planned practices, made line-ups, and ran drills. She also coached a 10u team and led annual coaches meetings, including discussion and demonstration of new drills.
A native of Kittanning Pa., Laina earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Marketing from Muskingum where she was on the Dean’s list multiple semesters. She is currently working on her Master of Education at Westminster.
