Lance joined the Westminster coaching staff in July 2023. He arrived in New Wilmington after serving as a co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Elyria High School in Elyria, Ohio. Prior to his time with the Pioneers Lance worked as director of football performance at D1 Training in Naples, Florida.Â
He spent over a year (Sept. 2020-Jan. 2021) as a volunteer with the University of Akron, assisting head coach Tom Arth and offensive coordinator Bryan Gasser with offensive quality control and player personnel and development. He volunteered with the Hula Bowl in 2021, serving as director of football operations and NFL scout liaison, and also worked in player personnel and as a NFL scout liaison with the Spiral Tropical Bowl, a premier FBS Division I all-star game, in 2021.Â
Lance also has an extensive background in business and sales development. He has spent time with Brightedge Technologies and Proformex, where he served in leadership roles focused on recruiting, hiring, coaching and managing teams. He created the Cleveland Aspiration Network in 2019 to help Cleveland startups identify outreach strategies based on target audience and market position.Â
Lance, an Avon, Ohio native, earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from John Carroll University in 2016 where he was a four-year member of the Blue Streaks' program, appearing as a tight end, fullback and center. Lance also played one season with John Carroll's ice hockey program.Â
