Codere earns season's first PAC weekly defensive award

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster senior Emily Codere (Shelton, Conn., Shelton) was named the season's first Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Monday afternoon.

This is the first PAC weekly honor for Codere.

A goalkeeper, Codere went 2-0-1 for Westminster last week. She recorded her first career shutout and made a career-high eight saves in a scoreless draw against Oberlin on Tuesday. Codere notched the second shutout of her career in a 2-0 victory over Mount Aloysius on Friday, making two saves. She made five saves in Saturday's 2-1 win over Lycoming.

Codere leads the PAC in goals against average (0.33) and is second is save percentage (.938).
