Kouvelas named PAC Newcomer of the Week

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster freshman Vasilis Kouvelas (Anthem, Ariz., Boulder Creek) was named the season's first Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Soccer Newcomer of the Week Monday afternoon.

This is the first PAC weekly honor of Kouvelas' career.

A goalkeeper, Kouvelas recorded 20 saves last week for Westminster. In a 1-0 loss at John Carroll last Tuesday, he made eight saves. Kouvelas recorded another eight saves in a 1-1 draw at Alfred State Friday before making four saves in Saturday's 3-1 loss at Alfred.

Kouvelas currently leads the PAC in saves (20), ranks second in saves per game (6.67) and fourth in save percentage (.800).

Westminster will travel to Hamburg, N.Y., to face Hilbert on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Hawk Field.
