Westminster women sixth at Fisher Invitational

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster women's cross country team finished in sixth place Friday evening at its annual season-opening Fisher Invitational. 

The five-kilometer event was hosted on Westminster's Lake Brittain course, with competitors navigating a picturesque route that winds around the College's signature 100-acre lake.

Grove City won the six-team field with a score of 22 points. Grove City senior Cayla Lawrence topped the 76-runner field with a finishing time of 19:34.53 seconds. 

Freshman Kelsi Lott (Leechburg, Pa., Kiski) finished sixth with a time of 21:01.33. Sophomore Callie Reaugh (Blairsville, Pa., River Valley) was 37th (23:35.98) while freshman Tessa Ward (Erie, Pa., Harbor Creek) was 58th (25:33.86) and sophomore Abby Perrine (Grove City, Pa., Grove City) was 63rd (26:29.86). Senior Madison Mamula (New Brighton, Pa., New Brighton) finished 73rd (30:44.50). 

Up next:
Westminster will travel to Penn State Behrend's Twilight Invitational on Friday, Sept. 18. The five-mile event is scheduled to get underway at 6 p.m.
