Westminster suffers elimination game loss

WASHINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster baseball team was dealt a 12-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament elimination game loss by Grove City Thursday afternoon at Ross Memorial Park.

Westminster, the six-team tournament's No. 1 seed, wrapped up its season 28-12. Grove City, the No. 5 seed, improved to 20-17 and will will play another elimination game Friday. 

Grove City struck for four runs in the first inning before adding three more in the third, another in the fifth, three more in the sixth and another in the seventh. Westminster's lone run came in the second, when freshman Breckin Minich (New Bethlehem, Pa., Redbank Valley) scored on a Grove City error. 

Junior Conner Adams (Wellsboro, Pa., Wellsboro) was 2-for-4 while freshman Grayson Eicher (Youngstown, Ohio, Boardman) went 2-for-3. Minich had a leadoff double in the second. 

Freshman Jacob Harrelson (Canal Fulton, Ohio, Green) took the loss, allowing four runs (4 earned) on five hits with a walk and a strikeout in 1.0 inning.
