Jackson earns PAC weekly recognition

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster senior Jayden Jackson (Fort Pierce, Fla., Centennial) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Football Special Teams Player of the Week Monday afternoon.

The honor is the first PAC weekly award of Jackson's career. Saturday's blocked extra point was also the first blocked kick of his career.

Jackson blocked James Winters' extra point attempt following Geneva's opening touchdown with 13:32 remaining in the first quarter, a play that proved pivotal in Westminster's 14-13 victory over Geneva Saturday night. He added five tackles (2 solo), 1.5 tackles for loss and a half-sack.

Up next:
Westminster will host Saint Francis on Saturday. The opening kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Memorial Field inside Harold Burry Stadium.
